After taking a hiatus to focus on motherhood and personal healing, former Isibaya actress Asavela Mqokiyana is ready to make her return to the entertainment industry. The talented actress revealed that she is now ready to be back on the small screens after going through a public divorce with her businessman ex-husband, Vuyisa Mqokiyana.

Asavela, the daughter of former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mqithi, said she has healed from that ordeal and that she is back with a newfound sense of purpose. She told ZiMoja that the purpose she is focusing on is a commitment to inspiring young women everywhere she can reach out to assist them. She said she is ready to entertain TV lovers with her roles that made her a household name in dramas like Isibaya and Abomama.
SHE WON'T GIVE UP ON LOVE
The 29-year-old actress, who played the role of Ntwenhle on Isibaya, said she still believes in love and would get married again. She said despite her break up which ended in divorce, she still believes in love and that love is a beautiful thing. "I can't paint all the guys with the same brush. I would definitely get married again," she added. She also addressed the rumours that she and her ex-husband, Vuyisa Mqokiyana, do not get along. "We have a beautiful relationship. He is a good father to his children and nothing has changed besides the fact that we are no longer together. We are both there for our kid," she added.
READY FOR THE CHALLENGE
Asavela said she is now ready to take any role. "I am ready for work. At least my child is grown and she knows me. I have someone I trust who looks after my child," she added. As she navigates her career, Asavela is committed to making deliberate and responsible choices about her life choices. "Moving forward, I'm committed to being more discerning in the roles I accept, particularly when it comes to portraying aggressive characters," she shared. Although she doesn't have any immediate projects or roles lined up, Asavela remains optimistic about the future. "I'm eager to take on a challenging and meaningful opportunity that not only marks a successful return to my craft but also aligns with my standards of excellence and personal pride," she concluded.
