Popular Lesotho-born rapper, singer, and songwriter Malome Vector died in a horrific car accident in the Free State yesterday. It's reported that two of his crew members, Lizwi Lokuqula and Puleng Phoofolo, also died in the accident.

CONFIRMED

In a short statement late last night, his record label Ambitiouz Entertainment said: "With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of a shining beacon, the Lion of Lesotho's sun has set. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones and industry peers during this time of profound loss. Rest in Malome Vector," the statement said. Free State Emergency Services spokesperson Sipho Towa told SABC News that a light motor vehicle collided with a heavy motor vehicle on the N1 near Koppies off-ramp. Towa said the vehicle was driving from the Gauteng side of the N1 towards Bloemfontein. "There were five people in the car, and two of them had been transferred to the hospital in critical but stable condition, while the three men were declared dead on the scene. The artists managers have been informed about the accident," he said.

HE ONLY COME TO JOZI IN 2O19

Malome Vector, real Bokang Moleli, moved to Joburg in 2019 from the Mountain Kingdom to pursue his music career. After the success of his debut single Karabo in 2020, Malome Vector penned a deal with Ambitiouz Entertainment, an independent label known for discovering and nurturing raw talent. Soon after that, Malome Vector began to roll with heavyweight artists. He was featured by prominent artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Blaq Diamond, and Wave Rhyder, amongst others. Malome Vector had a unique style of blending hip-hop, trap, and melodic sounds and incorporated elements of his native Sesotho language and culture. A huge fan of the late HHP, Malome Vector sang about life experiences, love,

and relationships.

May God see your family, friends, and fans through," he wrote.
