AmaZulu boss apologises to the King of Squats over bootcamp mess

Sandile Zungu is said to have apologised to Nyawolomshini

After the fitness guru Nkululeko Dlamini, known as Nyawolomshini or king of squats, was left stranded in Durban, KwaZulu Natal after being booked for AmaZulu FC bootcamp, the club's boss Sandile Zungu has personally apologised. Nyawolomshini and his crew were forced to sleep inside their cars last weekend after the organisers of the event ignored their calls when they arrived in the city. The incident resulted in Nyawolomshini and his crew being unable to participate in the AmaZulu FC birthday bootcamp, which was held at People's Park on 28 October 28th.

TAKING FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MESS

In a statement released by Siko Republik, the company that booked Nyawolomshini and organisers of the event, they said they take full responsibility for the incident and expressed their apologies to AmaZulu Football Club and President Sandile Zungu for the inconvenience caused. The company also clarified that the football club was not to be blamed for the incident and that it highly valued its relationship with the club and its members. "We would also like to clarify that AmaZulu FC are not to blame. As Siko Republik, we take full responsibility and would like to extend our heartfelt apologies to AmaZulu Football Club and President Sandile Zungu for this unfortunate incident. We highly value our relationship with AmaZulu FC and hold the utmost respect for the club and its members," read the statement from Siko Republik, a fitness company.

AMAZULU BIG BOSS PERSONALLY APOLOGISES

Nyawolomshini told ZiMoja that he was looking forward to showcasing his craft with his 22 strong crew at the event. However, due to a breakdown in communication, he was left stranded in a car and returned to Joburg the next day. "I spent money from my own pocket, about R20 000 for transporting the crew, tollgates, a driver and food for the road. I am really disappointed in both AmaZulu and Siko Republik to be honest," he said on Monday. ZiMoja has since learnt that Zungu personally called Nyawolomshini to apologise for the incident. According to the source, he even offered a refund for his costs and trouble. "Zungu is a humble man and he does not like shady things - hence he had to call him personally and apologise for the mix-up. He also explained that he was not aware until he read in media about the drama," adds the source. Zungu was not available to comment on the matter.
