She's one of the most decorated female rappers in Mzansi, and for some years, she took a hiatus from the music industry. Fifi Cooper disappeared from the music scene soon after parting ways with her record label Ambitiouz Entertainment.
TIMEOUT FROM SHOWBIZ
At the time, she said she had issues with the label boss, Kgosi Mahumapelo, over money. The award-winning star, whose real name is Refilwe Moeketsi, has since opened her record label, Cooper Records. She said she was now ready to take back her crown. "I've decided to take some time out from the industry to focus on myself and work on myself. I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to just reflect on myself and come back when I'm ready. Now I'm ready to take my place," she told ZiMoja. She said she did not take a break from the industry because she couldn't handle the pressure. "It's not because I couldn't handle the industry; I took the time because I needed to reflect on what I wanted musically since it has changed so much," she said.
NEW CHAPTER
She is gearing up for the release of her latest body of work, which is due for release next month. "I'm excited about my new music, and I'm also hoping that my fans will like my new direction; it's going to be quite awesome to gauge the feedback from the people who listen to my music," she explained.
