Actress Tebogo Thobejane's victory over a rival fight

Tebogo Thobejane said her focus now is to regain her dignity after Inno Morolong was found guilty oa all charges

Innocentia "Inno" Morolong was found guilty by the Randburg Magistrate's Court yesterday for defaming her former friend, Tebogo Thobejane. This is after Thobejane, a businesswoman and socialite, won the first round in her legal battle against her ex-bestie and fellow social media influencer.

SOCIAL MEDIA WAR

In March last year, the Diamond & Dolls star went on a rant on Instagram Live, alleging that Thobejane is a scammer, sex worker, pimp and uses muthi. In the live, Inno said: "I don't sell my body. I sleep good at night. My daughter knows one ex of mine. You call me an old rag, but you sleep with 20 guys; in fact, 20 is an understatement. Some of these men, you sleep with them without protection and you're filthy," Morolong vented. Thobejane and Morolong were also in a physical fight in 2022 together with another socialite, Doro Mongy. At the time, Thobejane claimed that Morolong took videos of her in the bathroom while she stayed at her house and posted her on social media. "They have told the whole world that my private parts smell. Inno went on to Instagram and told people I had an affair with the president. I had to move my son from his school because his friends saw pictures of his mom on the internet,' she said at the time. She opened a criminal case against the two fellow influencers and said she was tired of being cyberbullied.

GUILTY AS CHARGED

Morolong was found guilty on charges of crimen injuria and defamation of character following an incident last year. National Prosecuting Authority Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed the guilty verdict. "The accused has been found guilty on both counts. Matter coming back on 14 January 2025 for mitigation and aggravation of the sentence," Mjonondwane said. Thobejane told ZiMoja that she was pleased with the verdict and grateful for the fairness demonstrated by the court. "This marks a significant step forward and I will await the sentencing process. My focus now is on regaining my dignity and moving forward with integrity,''she said. Morolong could not be reached for comment.
