Actor claims to have been scammed by businesswoman

Mlamli Mangcala said he has been scammed by a businesswoman

Former The Queen actor, Mlamli Mangcala, is seething with anger after he was allegedly defrauded of over R300 000. Mangcala, who played the role of detective Captain Sthembiso Radebe on the now-canned telenovela, claims he has been syphoned money by businesswoman Busisiwe Ntuntwana. Ntuntwana, who is known as Busisiwe Honey Ntuntwana on her social media, promised to assist Mangcala in entering the lucrative trucking business.

SOLD DREAMS

Mangcala told ZiMoja that he trusted Ntukwana, as she owns14 trucks and two farms in the Eastern Cape. Ntuntwana allegedly promised to assist the actor in entering the lucrative trucking business, which she said would make him money. He said things took another turn after he made payments to her bank account; she blocked him on all her social media platforms. ZiMoja has seen proof of payments Mangcala made to Ntuntwana's bank account between November and December 2023. He said: "She was under the pretence of helping me enter the trucking business. After making payments, she blocked me on all platforms and failed to deliver on her promises," he said, adding that his outstanding invoices to her now exceed R10 million. ZiMoja is in possession of invoices that show that Ntuntwana owes Mangcala over R10m as a shareholder in her business.

SHE SAYS IT'S NOT HER FAULT

Mangcala is still surprised how Ntuntwana was able to defraud her despite being a popular businesswoman. "Despite her public image as a successful entrepreneur, frequently speaking about women in business and boasting a large following on TikTok and other platforms, she has failed to honour her commitments. While flaunting her wealth online, she continues to evade accountability," added Mangcala. He said he was coming forward so that he could warn others who might want to invest in her business. When called for comment and angry Ntuntwana said Mangcala was a friend who came to her for help to enter the business world but said their friendship was ruined because of the deal that went wrong. She said in business there are risks."It is not my fault. I am also fighting the same client, he was supposed to get paid by the client, not me. Black people must learn to read their contracts before they sign, I am not at fault here. I am also a victim- all I do is hire out trucks. If the client doesn't pay, that is not my fault. I bet if I was a white person, he was not going to run to the papers instead he would understand that it is business going wrong," she added.
