A bleak Christmas for Queendom unpaid cast and crew

Queendom actors still not paid after months

While many families gather to enjoy the festive season, eating decadent lunches, and holiday getaways, the cast and crew of Clive Morris' Production, Queendom are saddened that they will not enjoy Christmas following endless months of non-payment from the production company.

SILENCE

In an open letter to the Minister Of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie, the actors and crew whose names were not mentioned wrote an open letter to the minister. They questioned how he could purchase tickets for fans to attend the Chris Brown concert held last weekend and Makhadzi's One Woman Show taking place in Polokwane this coming weekend while failing to support unpaid actors from the Queendom production. "So here we sit, in front of you, cast, background actors, crew of Queendom. Unpaid, lied to and screwed. The result of your silence and indifference,' the letter read. In the open letter, the crew and cast state they had hoped that the minister would step in as this Christmas might be one to remember. "Is this your Christmas present to us? Besides your Chris Brown tickets, is this your legacy Minister Of Happiness? When will we be paid.' One actor said he has not been able to buy festive season clothes for his son, due to non-payment. "I thought by now they would have made a plan, but there's nothing," he said. "It's sad, but we are trying to move on." Clive Morris said they were still working on getting funds to pay staff.
