They recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. They have been through many trials and tribulations. She was very supportive and stayed in her marriage when her husband, comedian and gamer Mongezi "Toll A$$ Mo" Mahlangu was accused by model Lerato Moloi of rape. Lerato said that Mongezi raped her in 2014 while they were attending a work trip in the Western Cape. The model said in a statement that the incident happened in 2014. "For many years, I have been battling to find the courage and support to speak up against a number of acts of violence which have happened to me," Lerato penned. "In 2014, I was sexually assaulted and raped by Mongezi 'Tol Ass Mo' Mahlangu while working on a television production in Paarl, Western Cape. For numerous reasons, I did not open a case at the time and only shared this experience with one of the other participants on the show

SUING LERATO?

The rape allegations led to Mongezi being"cancelled" by society and it resulted in him not being able to make an income to support his wife and three children. Two years later, In August this year, Mongezi was found not guilty. In a statement by his legal team, they revealed that he was found not guilty by a court of law. Toll A$$Mo threatened charges of defamation and slander and civil charges against Lerato. This is due to the loss of income throughout the two years and total legal costs. Despite being found not guilty, Lerato said, she will prove he is guilty. "In the past two months, I have been served with letters from his attorneys to remove my tweets. A protection order was then applied against me along with an interim order demanding that I delete my tweets and effectively attempting to silence me just after I found my voice to speak about my experiences. This culminated in an arrest warrant being issued against me and my subsequent imprisonment."?

SHUTTING OUT THE NOISE?

Mongezi's wife and reality TV star Mome NaleMahlangu stuck beside her man throughout the two-year-long ordeal and explains why. "A wife's journey can be tough. Two years ago, I was attacked and shamed for standing by a man I have been sleeping and eating with for almost 13 years of love and I'm grateful I didn't read any of that hate speech by believers to protect my mental health," she says."I'm not a coward, naturally and I'm very connected to my spirituality. I'm happy that I'm a dreamer. I knew it was a fabricated lie to destroy our union. Two days of the fair trial took place after two years of full investigation with her witnesses who didn't believe her too. That time feminists are tweeting the NPA on the case for the victim to say in court it was Mo's dark aura that abused her at night when he was not there. You believed her because you hate Mo and Mome," she adds.?

Mome penned a sarcastic note to haters. "Dear believers, our cyber detective team and Mike Bolhuis have gathered your tweets, you contribute to the rising numbers of suicidal men in SA. We are currently in a civil case with the intention to proceed with her believers, very patient with this process. Someone has to take accountability because a man could have been jailed for lies," she writes. "If not now then it will never happen, and our black men will turn into Bafana who took his life then the girl said she was kidding. I can't wait for Mo to share the court transcripts. Bo I believe you Lerato, please tell me after you have gathered to destroy someone's life when they make it through, Do u guys gather again to celebrate them for making it through successfully or it ends on that?" she asks. Mome says, more people have stepped forward to say they knew it was all a lie. "To my surprise, now more people have come to us to say they knew it was a lie and those who were present at the production are now saying we should have called them to witness. The best way was to cut out the noise and gather my strength. Two years later, the truth prevailed then all the believers disappeared on my timeline. When they see me in public, their mouths freeze."
