uMkhonto Wesizwe Party Leader Jacob Zuma said the party had hoped to fill the over 35,000 seater Orlando Stadium but the event was delayed by what the party claims was sabotage by external forces as buses arrived late.
SABOTAGE
Both Jacob and her daughter Duduzile Zuma believed that they were sabotaged since their buses that ferried the majority of their supporters took time to arrive at the stadium.
"We had many buses that were coming from KZN but along the way they were caught in multiple road blocks which led to the belief that there were other factors at play. The event was initially supposed to start at 9am but ended up starting at 3pm but we will not despair,"said Zuma.
GIVE US FIVE YEARS
Zuma asked his supporters to give the MK Party just five years in government and if they don't deliver, people can vote for whoever come 2028.
"Give us five years to see if we can make the change. Many of those you're voting for just want to get seats in Parliament and once they do, they forget about the people."
Zuma claimed that the ruling party has lost track of where South Africa is going as as country. They are moving the country in the wrong direction and don't want anyone near them.
"Unfortunately we can't just sit and watch when we sacrificed and went to exile for it.This mess needs to be fixed there's a lot that we say but now the truth must come out. If you're a man you don't hide, but fix what's in front of you."
He told thousands of supporters who gathered at Orlando Stadium that MK Party will build factories where many people would be employed and provide free education to the country's youth.
"We want our children to study for free, especially those from poor households because the poverty we have was not created by us. It was created by settlers who took everything, including our land. We'll take all those things back, make money and educate our children," he said.
