Tshepi Vundla and JR married!

Jr and Tshepi get married after seven year relationship.

It's the season for celebrations, from Day of Reconciliation, Christmas, New Year, and even weddings, December is a time where many put their worries aside and have a good time. Media personality Tshepi Vundla and IDOLS SA judge Thabo Bogopa recently got married in a private ceremony with just family after he paid her lobola. The parents of two, a son Sibabalwe Lehakwe and a daughter Liyema Leru Bogopa have been together for some time and sealed their union with wedding rings and a traditional gathering.

TAKING THEIR TIME

Last year, Tshepi and Jr were suspected to be married after she was spotted with a ring on her ring finger. But she quickly corrected that she and Jr were in no hurry to get married. "The ring that I'm wearing is just a simple one. It's even a Pandora ring. I don't know why people would confuse it with an engagement ring, it's not even sparkly enough. I'm glad people assume it's expensive but unfortunately, it isn't,' Tshepi replied. "I've been with JR for six years; I know it feels like a long time, but our relationship is quite young. I've never been a girl who set a timestamp on when I should be married, nor do I fantasize about walking down the aisle,' she added. "If it happens, that's good and if it doesn't it's still fine. What matters is that I know where I stand with my partner.'

DEFENDING THEIR RELATIONSHIP

Social media has not always been kind to Tshepi and have often trolled her about when she and Jr plan to get married. But she has put critics in their place, and once asked them to kindly keep their noses out of her romantic life. "The weird obsession with me being married or not is rather annoying. Get off my d*ck,' she once wrote on social media. This is after in an interview Jr said Tshepi is not yet his wife. "I need to clarify she is not my wife yet. I think it's very easy for guys to start dating someone for a couple of years and then start calling them their wives. It's vat 'n sit. It's a loving relationship. Do you know what I mean? It's a family.'
