‘They did not reach out or help' ?" Mampintsha's sister on Babes Wodumo's family

Pinky Gumede feels alone after brother Mampintsha and mom Zamanguni died

Babes Wodumo's family did not believe that Mampintsha's mother was in hospital as they were never formally informed about her sickness. Even when the news of her hospitalisation trended on social media, the Simelane''s didn't believe it until she died on Sunday night following liver complications after her son died. ?

NOT VISITING HOSPITAL?

The family never visited Zamangwini in hospital. In a previous interview with ZiMoja, Babes Wodumo's sister, Nondumiso said they did not believe that Zamanguni Gumede had been hospitalised. She added that Mampintsha's sister Pinky did not call to tell them, and they are waiting for a phone call. "If she was sick, Pinky would call us and tell the family. Why has no one phoned us?"

Pinky tells ZiMoja that, it was hard to believe that Babes loved her brother when she couldn't accept his family. "All she is benefitting is money and fame. Everyone is feeling sorry for her, but none of them came to visit uMa in the hospital or even give her a call. Now, I am left alone,' she adds. Pinky says she didn't call them but is sure they knew about her being in the hospital. "I was also afraid of being labelled greedy. We were already harassed while trying to see Mandla's body. uMa died without seeing her son's body.

DYING FROM HEARTBREAK

Pinky believes her mother died of heartbreak. Zamangwini died on Sunday 15 at a hospital in Durban. "My mother was the one who had all the policies and information. My worst fear has come to life.' Pinky says Zamanguni was recovering well, or so she thought. "She was starting to eat and her medication was working. I was hoping by this week, she would start walking again.' At the time of publishing this article, Pinky says she had not received contact from the Simelane family. "Babes and her sister accused me of witchcraft, they said I'm evil and I am the reason for her not fighting with my mother. That is not true. I don't know why that family hates me so much. But for them to allow our poor mother to die without a mere visit or even a phone call is cruel,' she adds.
