Radio personality Tbo Touch has not taken kindly to allegations that he owes a service provider, Peace Maphula money for the services provided for the inaugural Replenishment Concert that took place in October. The successful concert that took place on 22 October at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium featured gospel heavyweights including Benjamin Dube, Dumi Mkokstad, Dr Tumi, Andile Ka Majola, Ntokozo Mbambo, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Thinah Zungu, Sbu Noah, Takie Ndou among others. Touch, through his lawyers Ian Levitt Attorneys, has demanded that Maphula retracts the statements made against him in a form of a public statement. Maphula has further been instructed to apologise to Touch for the allegations made by close of business tomorrow. If he fails to do so, Touch has threatened to take further legal action against Maphula.
HE WAS PAID
The letter further stated that Maphula was paid for his work. "You were mandated by a third party known as Tshiamo Letshwene in order to conduct social media coverage for our client for the concert. You conducted work in August 2022 for our client, and such work was paid for in the amount of R14 000. Thereafter, and from September 2022 another service provider, known as Ritevac Agency was brought on board in order to conduct the further social media coverage, as our client was dissatisfied with the work conducted by Tshiamo Letshwene and in turn, yourselves. No further work was attended to by you, and, upon our client requesting proof of the work attended to by you, screenshots were sent to it evidencing work in fact conducted by Ritevac Agency. Accordingly, there is absolutely no basis for you to claim that monies are still owed to you by our clients, "read the letter.
RETRACT THE DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS
The letter further claimed that Touch attempted to call Maphula to ascertain from him what he was exactly claiming he was still owed and for what but Maphula did not take Touch's calls. "We are instructed that, as such, your conduct is mala fides as you have accordingly proceeded to make these defamatory statements deliberately to advance your social media presence and defame the good name of our clients by tagging its sponsors in the tweets made by you," the letter further read. Maphula was also instructed to retract the statements made against Touch in a form of a public statement in which he apologises to him for the allegations made; and retract the statements made against him on account of them being untrue and defamatory. The letter further demanded that the public statement be shared by Maphula on all your social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
