He is a radio broadcasting icon. His career spans over three decades. Thabo "T-Bose" Mokwele is renowned for bringing topics to the airwaves that challenge and invoke human introspection and dialogue with his audience. He recently launched his book titled Pause- Are you making the right choices? published by Tracey McDonald Publishers.Through this book, he wishes he had read something of this nature before starting his adult life journey. Pause is a compilation of Thabo's pearls of wisdom and lessons about life, God, money, relationships, parenting, and, most importantly, self-mastery. The knowledge has been acquired by reading other philosophers' views on life and love, from interviewing entrepreneurs and entertainers about self-sufficiency, and preachers as well as teachers about self-mastery.

THE ESSENCE OF PAUSE
In the book, Thabo shares his wisdom, his daily practices towards success and what still challenges him. "The book was inspired by my interactions with my listeners, my people who I have come across, and interviewed, and the books that I have read. It is all of that coming together," he tells Zimoja. "A lot of people don't know that a three-hour radio show doesn't necessarily give you enough time to share and give depth and input into certain topics." It's a book that everyone, from teens to adults and offers a glimpse into living a life that is meaningful. "We often learn from our mistakes, but some mistakes are costly and should never be repeated. And if reading a short chapter on a particular topic can help mold a young person's life, or assist an adult to self-correct, then Pause is a must-read." T-bose says, "We all need to learn, unlearn and relearn many things in order to fully realise who we are meant to be."
WHAT INSPIRED THE BOOK?
T-bose recalls getting a call from a listener asking for more time on a certain topic. "They asked that I carry on the topic on Instagram Live. I thought, maybe let's put ink on paper and share observations, lessons, and all the pearls that I have gathered over the years, and at least we all have one place to go as a reference to what this world is about," he says adding that, "There are so many people around us who have seen how this world works and how we behave as a people regarding ourselves, money, God, you name it. So, let this be the beginning of that, told by an African child in an African setting for another African child."
WHY THE TITLE AND HOW LONG HAS IT'S TAKEN
It took him over seven years of gathering pearls of wisdom before publishing. He started journaling on his blog in 2015, writing his thoughts and then uploading them for people to read. "Along the way, I stopped but something kept bugging me. I knew I had to write a book. I was nudged to pick up my unfinished project," he says. He chose the title Pause because "we are always on the move." "Our lives are busy, always moving forward, whether we intend to or not. Time is moving ahead and half the time, we don't take amoment to pause. Some people are so hectic, their bodies will punch them totake a holiday," he says. "Pause, we are tired, we need to recharge and take thingsin. So, this title is another way of asking people to take stock and celebrateyour winnings, no matter how small," he says. "I am asking, are you going to celebrate who you are and howfar you have come and look at the mistakes you have made along the way and howwise they have made you, or are you just going to keep on going?" he asks. "Ultimately it is to teach the next person, pass on whatyou have learned to others."
