Police on the investigation of DJ Sumbody killing

Although the family did not share all the details about the death of businessman and musician Oupa John Sefoka, also known as DJ Sumbody, friends and those present at the scene of the crime say it is indeed him who was gunned down in a hail of bullets on Woodmead Drive in Johannesburg. The family of DJ Sumbody has shared details of his memorial service, which will take place tomorrow, with the theme All White. Fans and friends are also welcome to drop off flowers for the DJ frrom yesterday until Friday in Pretoria, Menlyn Maine.

WHAT POLICE SAY

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has shed some light on the investigation of the death of DJ Sumbody. SAPS Senior Communications Officer Colonel Mavela Masondo says in the morning of 20 November, the SAPS received a complaint about a shooting incident on Woodmead Drive and Woodland Drive. "This was at about 00:30 on Sunday," he says. Upon arrival at the scene of the shooting, police found two males inside a VW Golf with gunshot wounds. "A driver and a passenger were certified dead on the scene," he says. "In the report, another person driving a BMW X5 was taken to a medical centre after sustaining gunshot wounds. The motive for the shooting is still unknown at this stage and we are still doing our investigation." The SAPS has appealed to anyone with information on the case to come and call the Crime Stop at 08600-10111 or report to the nearest police station.
