The owner of the two vicious dogs that mauled Melitta Sekoleto death on 23 December in Limpopo wants them put down. This was shared by Nchabeleng Masebe's lawyer during his appearance at the Senwabarwana Magistrate's Court on Thursday. ZiMoja reported about the incident last week where the police had said the dogs were Pitbulls. It has since emerged that the dogs were Rottweilers.?
DOGS TO BE PUT DOWN ?
Masebe's defence lawyer Mando Matshisevhe told the court that she wrote a letter to the SPCA in Louis Trichardt giving them permission for the dogs to be put down. "I have drafted a letter to authorise the SPCA to put the dogs down and will ensure that my client adheres to bail conditions,"she said.
Masebe was arrested and charged with culpable homicide after his dogs, three rottweilers attacked Sekole from Ga-Makgato while on her way to work on Christmas eve at Vivo. He was granted R5000 bail.?
FAMILY WANTS JUSTICE
The community and family attended the court case in their numbers and demanded that Masebe be denied bail. The family has since expressed disappointment when Masebe was release on bail. They said although they aware that their sister and mother won't come back, Masebe needed to learn a lesson. The brother of the deceased Frans Sekole told ZiMoja that they will not give up on the case and will attend every court appearance until the final day. "We know she won't come back, but it will be consolation to us you know that her death was not in vain. She left her children behind and didn't deserve such a gruesome death," said Frans.?
