Ngizwe's case postponed and blames Bheki Cele for using him as scapegoat

Ngizwe Mchunu believes his arrest was politically motivated and blames Police Minister Bheki Cele for using him as a scapegoat.
Mchunu appeared briefly at the Randburg Magistrate Court pending the 2021 July unrest matter.
Upon their arrival, dressed in their traditional regalia, Mchunu and amabutho  broke into amaZulu traditional songs, burnt impepho and sprinkled intelezi before going inside.

STATE WITNESS UNAVAILABLE

The matter was postponed to the 5th  of November for trial because the state witness was unavailable due to taking the stand at Prince Lethukuthula Zulu's trial at the Gauteng High Court. Mchunu was unimpressed with the postponement and his emotions got the best of him and asked to address the court himself. The teary and visibly frustrated Mchunu said he could speak for himself and was tired of having someone addressing his issues on his behalf. He said all the delays were putting financial strain on him. Mchunu reminded the court that he was unemployed and legal fees were heavy on him.
"I have a family that comes to support me all the way from Nkadla. They must have petrol and food, I've even had to sell some of my livestock to accommodate this matter," he said. He said it's been a year already and he still doesn't know his fate.
"I'm respecting the court. If you arrest me arrest me. If you hang me so be it. I respect the law of the country because It's the only hope we have."

HE'S A TARGET?

He said he's an ordinary man who couldn't watch his father " Jacob Zuma" go to jail at his age
"As a poor man from Nkandla, I suffered. Tomorrow, if I won't be able to make it court, there will be problems.I don't know who caused the disaster.
After not finding the culprit, they targeted me. I am a noble citizen. Who has  never fought and never been arrested. I am just a  cultural activist. Zuma is from my home town and we were only expressing that as his neighbour's," he said.

POLITICAL INTERFERENCE

Mchunu claimed there's political  interference in his matter. "These postponements  may be the result of political interference. I met Cele in KwaNongoma during uMkhosi Womhlanga in KZN and asked him why I was arrested, he said I know because I said" "Azikhale" . Can this matter end? If I must be arrested, then I must be arrested now. How many criminals are out there?People are being raped by illegal miners but the law is arresting innocent people like myself, "said Mchunu.

CLEARLY FRUSTRATED

In response Magistrate RG Sadiki said, " I hear you but we have to follow procedure. I have made a ruling that I marked this matter final. We will ensure that we proceed with this matter and finalise it. " Mchunu's defence Vusi Khathi, said his client had the right to speak his mind. "He's allowed to speak directly to the court that's why I didn't stop him, he's obviously frustrated."
