He was stabbed, wrapped in a carpet and was taken to a dumping site in an attempt to bury him. But the young man survived being buried alive when he fell out of a moving bakkie he was being transported in. His family looked for him for month with no success. Tshepo Modukana's (26) mother was also advised to bury the blood-stained carpet he was wrapped in after his stabbing, but the mother wouldn't hear any of it. She wanted to see her son's body.
RESCUED BY PASSERBYS
It's alleged that after Tshepo's friends stabbed him, they thought he was dead and wrapped him in a carpet, put him in a car and drove to a dumpsite with him where they were planning to bury him. But Tshepo from Alexandra township in Johannesburg had fallen from a moving car while being transported in a bakkie and picked up by strangers who took him to the hospital. He was received by the Helen Joseph hospital as an unknown patient in October last year. According to a community member who spoke to ZiMoja, the friends went back looking for Tshepo's body but only found the carpet he was wrapped in and buried it together with the knife on 2nd Avenue in Alexandra.

HEAVY SECRET
Two weeks ago, one of the friends only known as Nhlanhla and a girl who was allegedly with the friends when Tshepo was stabbed, could not hold the secret anymore and told the local patrollers about what happened. "When patrollers got a report, the suspects took them where they buried the carpet. It is alleged that one of the friends called Sbu told the community leaders that they did not know where Tshepo was taken or buried. "The confession forced the community members to take matters into their own hands and confronted Tshepo's other friends who said they stabbed him on the neck and upper body," the community member said.
SPOTTED IN HOSPITAL BY NEIGHBOUR
shepo was finally found in hospital after being spotted by a neighbour who was visiting a relative at Helen Joseph hospital. His mother said she was not ready to speak to the media as she was still coming to terms with finding her son after he has been missing for months. Alexandra Police Station Commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela confirmed the incident. "We are aware of the matter, six suspects were arrested and charged with attempted murder and one of the accused passed away in hospital due to injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by the community," she said.
