Man arrested for trying to sell a 4-5 at a shopping mall

A 68-year-old man is recovering in hospital after a man chopped off his penis for a quick buck

A 32-year-old man from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape was arrested after openly trying to sell  a 4-5 he had earlier cut off from an old man. He appeared at the Butterworth Magistrates Court on charges of unlawful possession of human tissue.

4-5 ANYONE?

According to Eastern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, the suspect was arrested by members of the public, after they allegedly found him in possession of a man's private part at Butterworth Shopping Centre last Thursday. "It is believed that he was looking for a buyer around the mall. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a private part was removed (cut) from a 68-year-old man in OR Tambo District, who is currently in hospital." Nkohli said.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Nkohli said the suspect will be transferred to Mthatha, where he is expected to face an additional charge of attempted murder.  Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Nomthetheleli Mene has praised the community for arresting the suspect.  "This is a despicable and cruel act.  The actions of the suspect are inhumane, and justice must take its course," she said.
