A KwaZulu Natal man is on the run after he killed his fiancee a couple of times for not picking up his phone calls. Lizwi Nothando Masondo from Mkhonjeni in Jozini ,north of KwaZulu Natal, was allegedly stabbed to death. According to her grandfather, Elliot Masondo, the woman was in an abusive relationship with this man and he had paid lobola for her a while ago. "Last month I had to hire a car to travel to Johannesburg to get her from that boyfriend after he had beaten her with a hammer at his place. He accused her of cheating on him. I went therewith cops and get my granddaughter from that monster."

TIED UP IN A ROOM

Masondo said that he found his granddaughter tied up in a room with a bucket to relieve herself. "What kind of a person can do such a horrible thing like this. That man was obsessed with granddaughter and he killed her because of trust issues. He never loved her because there is no way you can kill someone you claim to love," said Masondo.

GiRLFRIEND WAS SCARED OF HIM

After the Johannesburg saga, where he had tied her up in his room, the fianc?, who cannot be named as he hasn't appeared in court, came to Jozini all the way from Johannesburg to ask for forgiveness."I told him that i wanted a cow and goat to cleanse my family because what he did to my granddaughter was bad. He promised to pay the damages but all that is gone now as he has murdered my child. My granddaughter told me that she was afraid of him. He had bruises on her body that she was hiding from us. This man killed my granddaughter here in my house while I was sleeping in my room he killed her using my new knife," said Masondo.

STABBED IN GRANDPA'S HOUSE

Masondo further said that he was heart broken with what his son-in-law had done."He made sure that he tied her mouth with a handkerchief so I couldn't hear the sound of my granddaughter screaming for help. When my daughter ran outside she fell outside trying to get help," said Masondo. KZN SAPS Spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, said, "A case of murder is investigated by Jozini SAPS. It is alleged that on 9 October 2022 at 01:00am , the 28-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times. She was taken to a local clinic where she later died. The matter is still under investigation."
