The family of a woman who was brutally murdered after borrowing a charger from a neighbour want justice. A male and female suspect appeared in Atteridgeville Magistrates Court on Monday.The charges against the male suspect has since been withdrawn after it was reported that he has turned a state witness.The female suspect will appear again in court on Friday for a formal bail hearing.
BRUTALLY MURDERED
Remokeng Maphisa (32) years old from Olievenhoutbosch was brutally assaulted until she passed away in December 20. It is said that Remokeng was accused of knowing the thieves who had broken into the neighbour's house and robbed them of their valuables. This prompted the neighbour to go and get some men who forceful took her into a nearby farm where she was assaulted her until she passed away.
BORROWING A CHARGER
According to the aunt Edith and uncle Ezekiel Maphisa, Remokeng sin was going to the neighbours house to borrow a charger. It is alleged that shortly after Remokeng had gone into the neighbours house to borrow a charger, thieves broke into the neighbours and robbed them of their belongings. "We are peaceful and we believe that the long arm of the law will bring us closure on what really happened on the day our niece was murdered. All we want is closure as we believe that she was murdered for something she was not part of. Our niece was never a criminal and she had a bright future ahead of her," the Maphisa family said. "More arrests are to yet to be made. The investigation is very critical and it may seem more people are going to be arrested soon," the uncle said.
MOB JUSTICE
A neighbour ,who wished not be named, told Zimoja that on the day Remokeng disappeared, he was taken to a local farm where she was beaten by a group of man who were alleged to be with the neighbour."We heard that she was taken to a local farm where she was brutally assaulted with everything that you may think of as she was found with both broken arms. The body was pale as she was being beaten with sticks and sjamboks," said a neighbour who asked to remain anonymous.
DOCKET
It is alleged that the case was moved from Olievenhoutbosch Police Station after a docket had disappeared to Erasmia, where they wereable to make arrest.In December the family released a flyer which stated that Remokeng had a argument with Tinyiko Khoza, who was a neighbour. In that flyer the family stated that Khoza was the last person to see Remokeng as she was seen being forced into her car in December 19. Remokeng held a psychological degree from both Wits University and University of KwaZulu Natal. She was teaching English in China and South Korea. She was preparing to leave for China this month.
