Many people believed that rapper was travelling with former manager Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane at the time of his death but Zimoja can confirm that the former business associates were attending separate events at the time of their deaths.
In fact, According to sources close to Tibz, the two only called each other because they were both in the same city and wanted to catch up but before they knew it they were murdered in cold blood. A source close to the situation says,"Tibz was running late, but somehow he managed to find AKA and his entourage there (at Florida Road). If he was 15 minutes late, he would have not found them there, but I guess God had his own plans," adds the source.

CHEF AT THE PARTY

Zimoja can reveal that Tibz was booked to cook at a 40th birthday party of a popular businessman Sthe Mabanga this past weekend and Tibz was due to attend his pre-party,held at  one of the hotels in Umhlanga when he met his death. According to sources who were in Durban, Mabanga who was celebrating his birthday, had to make alternative plans as soon as the news broke on Friday that Tibz had been killed.

VIDEO CALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY

According to another source, Mabanga, who is based in Durban in Kloof, was a very good friend of Tibz and they come a long way. It is said Mabanga was shattered when he heard the news of his friend and the rapper's killing.
"He and Tibz had been video calling each other throughout the day. Mabanga even commented in one of his Instagram posts - which has since been deleted - saying 'We are  waiting for you chef," adds the source.

THE SHOW HAD TO GO ON ?

The source says Mabanga would have postponed his party because of the bereavement, however, since most guests came from different parts of the country and they were already in Durban, the party had to go on.
"He had no choice but to continue with the itinerary as planned because most guests had booked at hotels, bought gifts and prepared outfits. He had to consider other people's efforts although he was not okay. Tibz would have been happy to cook for Sthe's guests because it would have been an honour for him," adds the source.

Tibz family released a statement announcing his death. "It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, Tebello and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023. To us, Tebello was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. To many, he was Tibz Wa Bantwana, Chief of Cool, Summer Time Cool Creator, K1 K9, and the many other names of affection."
