They have been changing the face of the fashion industry in Africa. This year, Fashion Without Borders celebrated nine years of giving young and established designers a platform to put their best foot forward. This year, they plan to do the same as they unite over 15 designers and 30 young models at the Michelangelo Towers on Nelson Mandela Square on the 6th April. ?

The co-founder at Efigy Productions Serge Kabisoso tells ZiMoja that the concept goes beyond just showing off beautiful clothes by local designers. "This event is a platform meant for upcoming models and designers coming from disadvantaged backgrounds to provide them with a space to showcase their craft,' he says. ?
UNITING AFRICA
Despite the years of disruption due to Covid-19 , the fashion industry is slowly beginning to find its feet again. The idea of the show came after they formed the show in Botswana and realised that the industry was making space for the same circle of people. "We wanted to celebrate Africa and its vibrancy and encourage a spirit of collaboration and dispelling stereotypes of xenophobia.'
