An ANC NEC member and former uMkhonto we Sizwe member and his estranged politician wife are fighting over cash worth millions, properties and businesses. The high profile marriage between the power couple, ended in 2011 when the husband was accused of cheating. The couple separated but didn't entertain divorce back then until last year August when the husband went to court to make their split official.

LIVING LARGE WITH THE MISTRESS

The politician reportedly moved in with his young girlfriend in Cape Town at a R40 000 a month apartment and also bought her an expensive convertible worth about R1 million and showed her with expensive gifts including expensive trips around the world. 

REFUSING TO SIGN DIVORCE PAPERS 

Though the couple have been separated for more than a decade, it's alleged that the wife refused to divorce papers in2022 to spite her the man's mistress. A source said: "She was deliberately frustrating him because she knew that he didn't want to declare his cash and businesses that he owns. Since she's out of the country representing South Africa as an Ambassador, she didn't have time to fight with the man and she also felt publicly humiliated by her husband's actions, and decided to heal first and now she is ready to fight him to bankruptcy.

BATTLE OF THE LAWYERS 

The powerful husband is represented by equally powerful Joburg lawyers. On August 31, 2022, they filed divorce papers on behalf of their client, and the wife is only being pro-active this year -demanding her fair share since they are married in a community of property. The former couple have two adult children. "Apart from the cash and businesses that the estranged husband owns, the wife is also demanding that he declares any properties he may own," said the source. Both were serving in the NEC of the ANC.

MATTER IN COURT

ZiMoja can reveal that the matter is currently in high court. "But he is now running away and does not want to declare his source of income and accounts about their joint estate" , says the source. The source adds he was being pressured by the mistress because she wanted to get married. "I understand where the mistress is coming from. They also have two minor children and she also wants the last name, "adds the source. Another source told ZiMoja that the husband made a mistake by making their first-born son as a director in one of his company's and now the son is siding with his mother. "The son is obviously going to be on his mother's side, that goes without saying,"

According to the court papers seen by ZiMoja the estranged husband keeps postponing the matter while he is trying to find ways of hiding his cash. "Thanks to some shares he bought years ago his things are currently doing well and they just bought a huge mansion in Bryanston with the new woman" says the source.
