The Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) has declared war on Speaker of Parliament Nosiviwe Maphisa-Nqakula after they claimed she called them "animals". Addressing the media at the EFF leader Julius Malema warned Mapisa-Nqakula to brace herself for war after she labelled all his party members as 'animals' and not honourables.
TWO DAY DEADLINE
Malema said that shortly after they were kicked out of the hall, he overheard Maphisa-Nqakula shouting "animals must go out". "We are giving the speaker 48-hours to withdraw her utterances of calling us animals inside parliament. When we are in parliament, we are honourables and we are supposed to be treated as such,' Malema said. The speaker came to parliament predetermined. Tell me what did (Vuyo) Zungula do to be kicked out? She kicked out Zungula to instill fear amongst us members of parliament especially from the opposition.
TAKING THE MATTER TO COURT
Malema said they will take the matter to the Constitutional Court if Mapisa-Nqakuladoes not withdraw her statement. What happened was unlawful and unconstitutional. Mapisa called on the South African security services to come inside parliament which means she was calling the army to come and protect the president from which threat? If she doesn't apologise, we are taking this matter to court," he said. Malema explained that he will never harm Ramaphosa. "I will never harm the president as he is the one who is more powerful than me. He has all the resources to harm me. I went on stage to stand therewith my placard and there was no weapon on me that showed that I was a danger to the president," he said.
ON MINISTER OF ELECTRICITY
Malema further said that they will challenge the appointment of the minister of electricity. "What is the purpose of the establishment of the new portfolio, the minister of electricity? There is a portfolio that deals with electricity and South Africa does not need another portfolio. Ramaphosa must get rid of Pravin Gordhan since he is doing nothing in that portfolio, look at Denel, look at Transnet and SAA. He is useless," said Malema.
SINGING FOR SUPPER
Malema further touched on Minister of Police Bheki Cele when he applauded the cops for the work done in parliament. "Cele is singing for his supper. That one doesn't know anything. He is stupid and a fool who goes around making empty promises. GBV is high and now he is singing for his supper just to avoid being reshuffled," he said.
