He is a decorated poet, filmmaker, producer, journalist, and playwright known for his commitment to developing arts and culture in our country. He has employed thousands of South Africans through his theatre and TV productions including shows like Muvhango, Umkhokha, Imbewu: The Seed, Uzalo, and Komkhulu amongst others. Word of Mouth Pictures founder and executive director Duma Ndlovu will be among a list of persons to be bestowed with National Orders by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
THE CEREMONY
Duma will be bestowed with the prestigious Order Of Ikhamanga in Silver for his sterling work in the television and film industry in South Africa. The award ceremony will be held on 28 April 2023 and will be given to those who have contributed towards the advancement of democracy and have made a significant impact in improving the lives of South Africans.
GRATEFUL
This feather will be an addition to Duma's hat, who was recently conferred with his second doctorate by the University of Zululand. "I am grateful for this honour. This nomination has filled me with pride, and I would like to thank the presidency and the people of South Africa for honouring my talent. It is an incredible moment for me,' Duma says, adding that, "I am almost incapable of finding the right words to convey my appreciation.' Duma was also once the chairman of the South African Music Awards. He is a published author and has directed and produced a string of television and theatrical productions.
