He was once the most admired businessman, musician, husband and father. Sean Combs also known as P.Diddy, Puff Daddy, or Diddy is now the most controversial man in Hollywood. He has now been implicated in multiple criminal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, fraud or coercion, and transporting for prostitution, and is said to have a prolonged history of alleged violence dating back to the 1990s.
A ROUGH HISTORY
In 2019, his ex-girlfriend Gina Huynh accused him of physical assault and stomping on her stomach, causing her to lose her breath. However, no serious charges were laid against him then. The can of worms was opened by his ex-lover and singer Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura when she opened a lawsuit at the New York federal court for sexual assault, physical abuse and how he would at times force her to have sex with male sex workers while he watched. Cassie and Diddy reached an amicable settlement for an undisclosed amount in November. Despite this, a video of Diddy assaulting the singer resurfaced and numerous other lawsuits spiralled and resurfaced. A former Syracuse University college student surfaced and sued him for allegedly raping and drugging her while filming the incident.
A CRUMBLING EMPIRE
His alleged criminal ways date back to the 1990s. It surfaced that the businessman allegedly promoted a celebrity basketball game and concert where nine people died and 29 were injured due to overcapacity and limited security control. Diddy was accused of hiring inadequate and inexperienced security and was forced to settle lawsuits with the families of the deceased. In 1998, he and two other men were reported to have attacked Steve Stoute with a champagne bottle after a video by Nas contained scenes depicting Diddy as Jesus Christ being crucified. Other claims that he threatened to kill celebrities have been made by various stars including Jamal 'Shyne' Barrow and Matthew 'Scar- Allen. In 2013, Diddy was reported to have been involved in a drunk altercation with rapper, J. Cole at the MTV VMAs afterparty. This is where he also attempted to pour a drink on Kendrick Lamar. In 2014, he allegedly punched Drake over a song dispute. In 2015 he is said to have gotten into a fight with then-UCLA assistant football coach Sal Alosi.
NAIL ON COFFIN
Several lawsuits of sexual assault, rape, abuse and physical abuse have been opened, including those by minors as young as nine years old and these include both men and women. Another woman claimed Diddy and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping her and her friend in 1991 while she was underage. Several high school kids claimed to have been flown into his house and given copious amounts of drugs and alcohol before being raped. In all these allegations, his business partners are implicated including Hollywood stars, Jay-Z, Usher, Will Smith, Justin Bieber, and others. Diddy has since been arrested and has denied the allegations despite his home being raided and hundreds of bottles of baby oil and lubricant being found in his home, sex toys as well as alleged recordings of the acts. He called the allegations sickening. "Let me be clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth."
