Musician, TV presenter and actress Anele Zondo is expecting a baby. The Ingwe hitmaker confirmed the news to ZiMoja today and says she feels like the luckiest girl in the world because she has always wanted to be a mother.
SHE HAS ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A MOM
Speaking to ZiMoja, Anele says that motherhood is a journey that she always wished, prayed and longed for, for the longest of time. She also admitted that she did not want to rush the process and have a baby just because of peer pressure. "The pregnancy is teaching me what is possible when we allow nature to take its course. I'm both nervous and excited. I can't wait for my audience and fans to ride with me," she says. Although she did not want to share who her baby daddy is, the ecstatic mom-to-be told ZiMoja that she is over the moon and that her pregnancy has inspired her to work even harder on her music. The 29-year-old said having a child of her own has always been a priority although her career came first, but she has always been concerned about her biological clock. "Striking a balance between my biological clock and my expanding career has always been something I felt conflicted about. As women it is always put to us to choose between either - to focus on being a mother or career. We are questioned when we consciously choose both," she explains.
NEW MUSIC
The multi-hyphenate artist and fashionista tells ZiMoja that keeping her pregnancy a secret has been the hardest thing for her the past few months. Fondly known to her fans as "Ney The Bae" she has also announced the release of her latest EP, Vuka which means awakening. Zondo says the reason why she decided to take her own time to drop her EP is because she did not want to take her fans for granted especially because they have been loyal and supportive towards her. "My Baes (fans) will love this project. I took my time with it, and it has been a labour of love. It's a celebration of everything they love about me, but I am also sharing a different, more vulnerable side of me they haven't heard," she says.
