The family of the late Advocate Mngomezulu says they welcome donations and gifts towards the burial of the late advocate Thulani Mngomezulu.
The family issued a formal statement pledging those who want to gift the late advocate to feel free to do so.
GIFTS FOR THE LATE LAWYER
In the letter, the family shared the account number for Mgomezulu's wife Dumisile. The letter read: " Dear Friends, please note that the below account number is the only account approved by the family for the gifts towards the late Mr Thulani Mingomezulu. There is no other platform/person that the family has authorised to accept gifts on their behalf either than the details shared below. Based on the fact that we cannot all attend or be physically present for his family in these times, gestures of gifts have a way of sending a thousand words."
NOT ASKING FOR DONATIONS BUT GIFTS
When called, Sibusiso Mngomezulu said: "The family is not asking for donations. They are asking for gifts from those who want to gift the late advocate. Anyone who wants to gift the late advocate they are more welcome and to watch out for scammers please use the account provided by family," he said. Advocate Mngomezulu, who represented two of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, died at a hospital in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, yesterday. While some social media users committed that they would assist the family in burying Mngomezulu, one user Thabiso Maps Leroy was not impressed. He wrote: "Gifts ne." Another user, Mbongeni Msomi wrote: "Thank you so much cc Pat. We appreciate this gesture. As I am here in Durban, it would have been difficult to attend a memorial service or a funeral so I am going to send isipheko (contribution).
