South African citizens living in Los Angeles and some opposition parties are gatvol with consulate-general to Los Angeles Thandile Sunduza. The citizens are accusing her of living a 'wild' life in America and are enraged that her four-year contract has been renewed by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO). Sunduza is the former MP who was dissed for her yellow dresses at SONA in 2014.

PARTY GIRL ABROAD 

In a letter seen by ZiMoja to DIRCO Minister Naledi Pandor, the citizens accused Sunduza of wasting SA taxpayers' money by partying and not doing her duties. "Minister, please note that CG Sunduza's house in LA is known to be a stokvel house, she only invites black South Africans using our taxpayer's money to entertain them with swimming pool parties. The public demands to know what influenced the decision to continue deploying Sunduza for a period of eight years in the LA office, instead for a normal period of four years. Is cadre deployment, or the decision is made to give Sunduz'sa child an American education with the benefits of SA taxpayers' money? Is this to praise corruption and encourage poor performance?" In the letter, the writers claimed that the LA office has lost its dignity under the leadership of Sunduza. They allege that the services are below par compared to the past ocnsulate-general. Under Sunduza's leadership, they said that phones are not answered by the receptionist and that it takes months to get back passports and birth certificates. "When the public request meetings to meet Sunduza in her office for business purposes, she allegedly channels all the meetings to her residence so that she satisfies her own personal agendas, said the letter. The complainants made their intentions known to Pandor that they will approach the office of the Public Protector to investigate her "incompetency". 

ALLEGEDLY ABUSING STAFF

The letter further said Sunduza verbally and physically abused staff at her office. "All diplomats and the Americans staff working in your office in LA are not happy with Sunduza's management and her bullying leadership style, this is a known factor around LA and this is the reason that your office keeps deploying Human Resources Officers from SA to conduct investigations in LA office," the letter said. The letter also accused Sunduza of changing housekeepers that she hires from South Africa and physically assaulting one and leaving her homeless in a foreign country. The letter went on to claim that one diplomat was given an intermission transfer from LA office to another SA Embassy office in Europe; because he had enough of Sunduza. A source who spoke to ZiMoja said Sunduza also failed to represent South Africa at international events like the Grammy Awards, the Oscars and BET Awards. She is being accused of not being visible and active like other previous CG's. They are apparently videos to prove Sunduza's unruliness at public places, claiming that she is loud and always screams and shouts at waiters at restaurants. The ANC is also dragged into Sunduza's shenanigans as the authors doubt, they'll vote for the party that Sunduza represents. When called for a comment, DIRCO spokesperson Clayson Monyela confirmed that the department has received the letter and said that the department is looking into it. "I can confirm that we did receive an anonymous letter and we are looking into the allegations,' he said.
