A magistrate told convicted serial killer Rosemary Ndlovu to drink more water when she complained that she was suffering from kidney failure. Rosemary and her co-accused, Nomsa Mudau, were back in court yesterday on charges of attempted murder. The two former policewomen allegedly conspired to kill Mudau's ex-husband, Justice.

TOLD TO DRINK MORE WATER

Before the court proceedings, the presiding magistrate asked Rosemary how she was doing, to which she replied, "Not so well, I'm suffering from kidney failure." The magistrate then asked if she was being treated. With a little attitude, while stroking her braids, Rosemary replied, "Yes, I went to Bara last week. But we can continue with proceedings, we will see as we progress," Rosemary said. "Bara? You must drink a lot of water, neh. Good luck, sis. How are you, Nomsa? It's almost Friday, girls, let's push," said the magistrate.

NO INTENTION TO KILL HIM

During the court proceedings, the man whom Rosemary and Mudau allegedly hired to kill Justice for an insurance payout told the court that although he had agreed to kill Justice, he had no intentions to do so. Jabulani Mtshali told the court that he was promised R75 000 for the hit. He told the court that Mudau told him to kill her husband, a police officer, at their gate when he came back from work, as he usually alighted from the car to open the gate. Mtshali testified that at the time Mudau wanted them to commit the crime, she did not have the R75k but said she only had R15k. "She accused her husband of cheating and promised to pay the rest of the money when she made a claim," Mtshali testified. Rosemary was sentenced to six life sentences in 2021 for killing five relatives and her lover, for whom she had taken out funeral or life insurance policies. She was arrested when the hitmen she had hired to kill her sister and her five children tipped the police about the hit. The matter will be back in court in September.
