The leader of the Patriotic Alliance (PA) Gayton McKenzie has announced that he will be taking out R1million from his own money to award anyone with information about the whereabouts of missing 6-year-old Joshlin Smith.

SHE' A RAINBOW CHILD

McKenzie went live on his Facebook yesterday expressing frustration that despite arrests being made, Joshlin has still not been found. "This child has become the conscience of our nation. This is a rainbow child. I am taking R1 million out of my own money that I could have put into my political campaign," McKenzie said. I will have a million Rand less [for] posters, I will have a million Rand less [for] t-shirts. I will have a million Rand less of diesel for my campaign but for me, what is bigger than politics is finding that green-eyed girl," he said. McKenzie said he is putting R1 million for anybody, no questions asked, who can reveal where Joshlin is. "I know that Joshlin has not been buried in Saldanha Bay as the area has been scoured and searches are continuing for the child. We have people looking every day off cameras. We have drones in the air. I will never give up. I am running for president of this country. I am supposed to campaign. How do I campaign if we have not found Joshlin?" he asked.

MISSING FOR OVER A MONTH

Joshlin has been missing for over a month and McKenzie said the police are struggling to find her because they are refusing help from the community. He said the team he had tasked to help in the search had pointed out the suspects in police custody seven days before they were arrested. "You police have no idea where Joshlin is because you don't want the community's help. Ask us to look out for this car or whatever. We live in an age of cameras. Why don't you trust the community? We got our information from the community," he said. The suspects arrested in the matter have all abandoned bail at this stage.
