Papa Penny dumps the ANC for Jacob Zuma's MK Party

Penny Penny is now an Umkhonto weSizwe Party member after dumping the ANC

Following the announcement of the much-anticipated Umkhonto weSizwe Party manifesto scheduled for this Saturday at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, another prominent person has dumped the ANC and joined the party. Legendary singer, Papa Penny, whose real name is Eric Nkovani and hails from Giyani in Limpopo confirmed that he has dumped the ruling party.


DUMPING THE ANC FOR MK PARTY


The Milandu bhe hitmaker confirmed the news to ZiMoja and said he will talk more on his decision once he has spoken to the party leadership as per procedure. "Yes, I have joined MK, but I cannot speak to the media without getting a permission from my leadership," he said before he hung up. Papa Penny, who was an ANC ward councillor at the Giyani Municipality in Limpopo for years, once contested to become chairman for Limpopo ANC and even said he wanted to be the premier. The veteran Tsonga musician is not the first artist to join MK as the party recently formed uMkhonto weSizwe Creatives, which is led by award winning rapper and actor Mxolisi "Zuluboy" Majozi.



ENDORSED THE MK


Actors Enerst Msibi and Khulu Skenjana are some of the celebrities that have come out publicly and endorsed the MK Party. Attempts to get comment from MK Party national spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela failed as his phone rang unanswered.Texts and WhatsApp messages were sent but he ignored them.
