Celebrities came out in numbers to vote for their favourite political parties in the national elections. This election marks 30 years of democracy in South Africa. Many other South African celebrities who live overseas did not miss out on the chance to let their voices be heard by voting abroad last weekend. Rugby player RG Snyman and his wife Saskia were among thousands of South Africans who voted from abroad. Local celebs shared snaps of themselves voting experience.
SOMIZI MHLONGO
Having lived to tell the tale of voting at the 30 years of democracy, entertainer Somizi Mhlongo walked to his voting station in his robes and encouraged citizens to also let their voices be heard.

Controversial former music executive Nota Baloyi shared his inked hand. "Broke a nail. We'll discuss how I got my ID and voted MK Party in 24 hours. Thank you, IEC," he said.

Gazing at his three ballots in confusion, Lasizwe Dambuza made his way to his voting station.

Feather Awards founder and gay activist,Thami Dish, proudly shared his ANC painted nails in support of his favourite political party while making his way to his voting station.
BOTHLALE BOIKANYO
Poet and actress Bothlale Boikanyo went out to vote for the youth to be heard.
KATLEGO DANKE
Actress Katlego Danke shared the importance of casting her vote to her toddler. "Just explaining to my little one how important it is for all of us to exercise our right to vote and the short history of democracy in our beautiful nation. A lot of thinking he did but ultimately what did it for him was the fact that my surname falls within A-G in the alphabet and that queue was a lot shorter and therefore quicker. Either way, country duty done for the day. Let the votes fall where they may."
