She recently shared that she has gone under the knife. Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams says this was to fix some of her body’s "stubborn" areas and get "snatched" as part of her health and wellness journey. After a successful liposuction procedure, Nonku says healing has been challenging.

HEALING IN AND OUT

Earlier this year, she revealed that she was making some physical changes to her body. Se confirmed that she had gotten lip fillers and Botox done. "So y’all know I’ve been on my transformation journey of living good, feeling, and getting snatched!" Nonku says had liposuction. She revealed images of bruises from her surgery. "As I look at my bruised body because of my recent procedure, I can’t help but associate physical healing with emotional healing," she says. "As badly as I want my healing process to be over, I realise that healing is a process that should not be rushed both physically and emotionally. Our physical scars and bruises are proof of a horrible ordeal that we endured but because we see them physically and so as other people, we tend to nurse them more and allow nature to take its course," she adds. "We also apply necessary measures to speed up our healing like taking pain meds or gently massaging the affected area. But what about our unseen bruises and scars that other people also can’t see? We convince ourselves that we have healed while our souls are yelling helplessly for help and we suppress that feeling by taking substances like alcohol or drugs to numb the pain, instead of reaching out and nursing our pain by talking about it."

 PAST SCARS

Nonku has in the past opened up about being abused by her ex-husband. "It’s not easy. As I speak I’m actually holding tears because the journey is hard. I come here looking all glammed up. Most people tell me I’m strong, but you know sometimes I hate that word because I’m not strong. I cry alone. I kneel and ask God why I have so much burden," she shared. "I was told I’d never amount to anything, but today you’re looking at a woman who’s found herself, who has found her identity. I know who I am, and I know what I stand for." Her recent relationship also did not end well after her ex-convict partner Dumisani Ndlanzi but she has since picked up the pieces of her life.
