"Nahana! He stole my song and made me a feature"

He is raging with anger after he heard the song that he tirelessly worked on for weeks being played on the radio and he was not credited as the main artist but a feature. Choreographer and musician Skoropo, real name Blessing Khumalo is accusing Makhadzi's former dancer Limpopo Boy, real name Matome Thoka of stealing his song Woza Summer.

NOT A FEATURE

Skoropo expressed his disappointment saying that he never expected his former friend to do that to him. "We both used to dance for Makhadzi. We used to live together and shared everything. For him to go and steal from me is disappointing," he says. Skoropo adds that he was at home when he heard the song on the radio. "I heard the DJ back-announce the song saying Limpopo Boy featuring Queen Lolly, Skoropo, and AirBurn Sounds. I lost it. I am not a feature in the song. I am the main artist," he says. "That song is supposed to be Skoropo and Limpopo Boy featuring Queen Lolly and AirBurn Sounds, but he has taken it and made it as though he is the main artist on the song, and we are just features. That is not true."

CONFRONTATION

Skoropo says this is not the first time they have had a dispute over a song. "The same thing happened in 2021 and I don't want to talk about it. He always plays the victim." Skoropo adds that when he confronted Limpopo Boy about the song and he became dismissive. "Limpopo Boy is so arrogant. When we confronted him, he started fighting us and said we wanted to steal his shine and his connections. That is not possible," he says. "Everyone has their journey, and we can't steal his shine. Yena, he needs to come out and say sorry. He got over excited and wa no mhobholo and we move on."

NO JEALOUSY

The song has since been featured on an upcoming Netflix production starring Limpopo Boy titled Dark Beauty. "That obviously means that he will have a big piece of the pie when the royalties come out. We are now also seeing other people's names in the song - Prince Benza and Makhadzi. There is just a lot of confusion. He has also taken some of the lyrics and used them in another song. He is just moving in a strange manner." says. "No one is jealous of the guy. But what he did was wrong, and he needs to be called out."

SUCCESS

Limpopo Boy has since been travelling parts of Europe teaching dance students African Dance styles. "We are happy for him and wish him well. But what he did is still wrong." Skoropo has also successfully been running his dance school, African Devine Dancers at Cosmo City in Johannesburg with over 100 students. "I love what I do, and I will never get discouraged by things like these. The dance academy is doing well and this year we have big plans of working with award ceremonies and big events." Limpopo Boy did not wish to comment on the song matter. "I am in the middle of a class, and I don't want to talk about this matter."
