Grief stricken Nomthandazo Zulu, who is the mother of the late Nqobizitha Zulu who was found killed and mutilated in a veld in White City, Soweto, says she won't heal as long as she sees the woman she believes was an accomplice in her son's murder. Zulu was appearing in court for a case of assault and malicious damage to property after she had a fallout with the woman she believes was involved in her son's murder.
SHE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED
Zulu told Zimoja that in late January she was called by her friends and neighbours alerting her that the woman who was suspected to be involved in the death of the two boys was seen entering the house of a sangoma in their neighbourhood. Zulu said she also used the services of that healer after the boys died.
"When I heard that she was around I became angry because she knows the community doesn't want to see or trust her to be around their kids. So I went to the sangoma's house to confront her and asked her why she killed my son and she told me that she didn't do it. I became angry and slapped her on the face." Zulu said the family members of the sangoma then attacked her.
"As I was walking out that woman yelled "angikaqedi" (meaning she?s not done) killing our children. I immediately lost it and smashed her windscreen and slashed her tyres. Then I went to the police station to ask how she was released because she was arrested. They told me that she had turned state witness. I asked why I wasn't informed of this because we are not supposed to be close to each other. While I was at the police station they told me a case had been opened against me but I was granted free bail." She said she is willing to spend the rest of her life in prison fighting for justice for her son.
THE CASE
Couple Nqobile Ndlovu (50) and Mthunzi Musawenkosi Zulu (39) were arrested in connection with the murders of Nqobizitha Zulu and Musawenkosi, and Tshiamo Rabanye (6).
The mutilated bodies of the two boys were found kilometres apart in Rockville and White City two weeks later. Ndlovu was arrested a week later alongside Musawenkosi, who is said to be her boyfriend.
The matter was postponed to April, awaiting DNA results, where the court will decide whether the matter is ready to go to the High Court for trial or not.
