Moneoa accused of stealing another artist's song

Moneoa says all she wants is peace

It seems as if controversy does not want to leave singer Moneoa alone. This comes after the Isibhanxa hitmaker is accused of stealing a song titled ,Owami Lo ,released in 2019. The Deepest Secret singer is embroiled in a nasty song squabble, which may see her forking out millions as the real owner, Nozipho Nguse whose stage is Zee Felo, wants each and every cent she made out of it.

MAKING MY MONEY

Zee Felo says she has been quiet about this matter for the past four years. " I am.speaking out now because I thought she had stopped performing it or making money from my song. Last week I was chilling at my place when I came across Moneoa's interview on TV. What pissed me off was seeing her performing my song -the same song they stole from me in 2019. I want every cent she made from this song. The song is big and is being played by many radio stations around the country," she said.

THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING

Detailing on how the song was stolen, Zee Felo said Moneoa was with her then ex-fiance Phiwe Maphanga when they came watch her performance in 2019 in Newtown, Johannesburg.

"They knew exactly what they were doing because shortly after my performance they offered me R50 000 to sell them the song. I refused on the spot because the song was well received. Two weeks later I heard my song playing on Jozi FM and other radio stations," she said, adding the song got her a booking in Ghana.

"They had a camera and a video recorder which they used to steal my song. They are now pointing fingers at each which irritates me the most. No one wants to take responsibility for their actions. Phila said that he was willing to settle out of court but, "I want to know how much they made out of my song and all that money must be paid back to me. I don't care how but they must find a way to pay because when they stole my song," she said angrily.

NEVER KNEW IT WAS STOLEN

When Moneoa was contacted she confirmed knowing about the matter but said she was not aware about the song being stolen.

"To be honest and truthfully speaking, I was not aware that the song was stolen. Phiwe is the one who came to me with a song and said I must record it, he needed it on my album. In 2019 I was asked about stealing a song but Phiwe brushed it off and I never questioned anything because we were in love. I hate what's happening, it's like I am paying for the sins of that man. I'm suffering again because of that man. I have signed off everything to Zee with regards to that song to protect my peace. All I want is peace for myself," she said.
