The mystery deepens: Unanswered questions in Joslin Smith's disappearance

Joslin Smith's mother's boyfriend admits she was in his care when she disappeared

Jacquin Appollis, who is the boyfriend of Joslin Smith, the mother of the missing six year old has admitted that the child was left in his care before disappearing. He said although he feels responsible for her disappearance, he had nothing to do with it. A police chopper as well as drones have been hovering over areas around Saldanha Bay in the Western Cape in the search for her.

NO ACCOUNTABILITY

Joslin's mother ,Kelly, had previously said she tried to get hold of her boyfriend from the time she got back from work around 5pm. Kelly said when she found her boyfriend and asked him where the child was, he couldn't account. However, Appollis disputes that he left the house and claims he never went anywhere. "When the mother came back from work around 5pm, she asked me where Joslin was. When she did not return by 6pm, we started getting really worried and searched for her but we couldn't find her then we called the police," he said. He added that he last saw her around 2pm when the little girl was going to play with her friends. "I'm really honest," he said Apollis.

WHOSE TO BLAME?

Joslin's grandmother, Lauretta Yon, said she is not pointing fingers at anyone but if Kelly and her boyfriend know something they should be held accountable. "If there's something, they must tell the truth because I can't blame Apollis without evidence despite the fact that Joslin was left in his care," Yon said. Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie has offered a R100,000 reward, while War Against Parental Alienation group has put up a R10,000 reward for information that can lead to Joslin being found.
