Electricity minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa survived unharmed after a car he was travelling in got involved in an accident yesterday afternoon. Ramokgopa was travelling from North West to Gauteng after attending a church service at the African Apostolic Church in Mareetsane village, outside Mafikeng.
TRAVELLING WITH HIS TWO PROTECTORS
According to the Presidency, the accident involved the car in which Ramokgopa was travelling in with his two protectors and another vehicle. Spokesperson Tsakane Khambane confirmed the incident. "Dr Kgosientsho "Sputla" Ramokgopa, the Minister of Electricity, was involved in an accident on 14 April 2024 while travelling from the North West Province to Gauteng. The accident involved the car the Minister was being driven in with two protectors and another vehicle," said Khambane.
SURVIVED UNSCATCHED
Khambane further said that all individuals involved in the accident received medical attention and after a thorough examination, Ramokgopa was discharged without hospital admission. "The minister is doing well and has expressed his heartfelt and sincere wishes for a speedy and optimal recovery to those injured in the accident. He also sends best wishes to all individuals affected by the incident," said Khambane. Last year, Ramokgopa was appointed Minister in the Presidency responsible for electricity by President Cyril Ramaphosa. He was sworn into office the following day to help end loadshedding in Mzansi.
