MK Party expels 'rogue elements' including its founder Jabulani Khumalo

MK PArty co-founder JAbulani Khumalo has been expelled from the party

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has expelled five members they labelled 'rogue elements' including the party's co-founder Jabulani Khumalo following a meeting by their national leadership. In a statement late yesterday, the party said Khumalo registered the party on behalf of former president Jacob Zuma.

 CLEANSING ITSELF

The other four members expelled are Ray Khumalo, Bheki Manzini, Lebo Moepeng and Rochelle Davidson. According to party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndlela, the six members were fired for being rebellious against the party protocol. "At a meeting held by the national leadership core and in light of the attempts by external forces to destabilise the MK Party whose aim is to advance a revolution of the people, the leadership has decided to expel Jabulani Khumalo who is the core founder of the organisation," Ndlela said. He added that the leadership of the party will always act and make decisions in the interest of "all patriotic South Africans that want to see change."

REMOVED FROM THEIR POSITIONS

The party recently fired controversial former #FeesMustFall activist Bonginkosi Khanyile as the uMkhonto Youth League (MKY) leader. In a letter, MK's secretary-general, Sihle Ngubane said that Khanyile was being removed from his position with immediate effect. "You are hereby removed from the position of National Coordinator of the MKYL, this removal is effective from today. Your role going forward will be a normal member of the MKYL, you will be notified of your redeployment in due course," the letter reads. Khanyile's axing was followed by that of Nhlanhla Ngidi who was the party's preferred KwaZulu Natal Premier candidate. He is number one on the party's candidate list in the province.
