While Lion King producer Lebo M is busy cleaning his house, fellow TV producer Carol Bouwer is busy cleaning the mess Lebo M made with the production of season 2 of his reality show. ZiMoja can reveal that in a desperate attempt to get Lebo Morake’s reality aired, Carol has now approached Lebo’s estranged son, Tshepiso, and his wife Ayanda to finish off the second season of Lebo M: Coming Home. Season 2 will be called Lebo M is Home.
SHE ACTED OUT OF DESPERATION
According to a source close to the situation, Carol has also approached Lebo M’s estranged wife Pretty’s niece, Ashley Ogle who was staying with the couple during their happier days. The source tells ZiMoja that Carol had to come up with a plan B because the star of the show left her hanging. "She was under pressure but managed to come up with a solution," adds the source. ZiMoja has learned that Carol was desperate because she had contractual obligations with Primedia and they expected her to deliver. The source says Carol then decided to go behind Lebo’s back and approached his family members to finish off the remaining episodes to complete the season. "I would have done the same if I were in her position, Lebo left her with no choice, she had to think outside the box," the source said. ZiMoja reported that Lebo and Carol’s relationship went sour when after Lebo allegedly failed to account for R3 million given to him while shooting the show in the USA. A source said then that Carol’s production company was given a budget of about R11 million by Primedia for pre-production and out of the money, Carol gave Lebo R3 million to use for a shoot in the USA, where he spent most of his early years, to pay lobola and family holidays as part of the content. The source added that Lebo failed to deliver slips for all the trips and that strained their relationship.
SEASON 2 PRODUCTION ALMOST COMPLETED
According to the source, the last episodes with the new cast members have already been shot and they are busy with editing. "They were pretty much done with production. The only thing that’s missing is editing," According to the source, Lebo has no idea that the show is continuing without him. He is still under the impression that things are on hold. According to the source, Carol has managed to sell the show at the SABC. "From what we believe, the show is going to be on SABC 2, but we are not sure yet," Zimoja has also learned that the show will air in mid-August. According to another source, Lebo won’t take it kindly and he is going to fight. "Lebo won’t allow his name to be used in vain this show is supposed to be about him," adds the source. When called for a comment, SABC 2, publicist Caroline Phalakatshane said SABC is not aware of the show yet. Lebo M and Carol could not be reached for comment. Both failed to return our calls or respond to messages sent to them.
