His health has not been in tip-top shape since he was hit by a stroke in December last year. He struggled to get back on his feet and was bedridden and unable to walk for months. But he had gotten better and has been taking bookings for events and shows. He was recently booked to be on the lineup for the Durban version of Riky Rick's Cotton Fest on Sunday 2 July but Thokozani "L'vovo Derrango" Ndlovu (42) has since had to turn down the booking.

CANCELLING

In a statement sent to ZiMoja the iStyle singer says his ailing health is not allowing him to perform at Cotton Fest. "The past few months have been one of the toughest periods of my life," he says. "I've literally had to watch my life flash before me. Through it all, I've received unwavering support from my fans, family, and friends. I've been in constant engagement with my doctor these past few days about my condition."

ALL IN GOOD TIME

L'vovo says he is, however, grateful, to still be receiving bookings. "To the organisers, thank you so much for wanting me to be part of the event. I'm sorry to announce that after lengthy discussions we have taken a decision to not perform at the Cotton Fest this coming weekend." He sincerely apologised for the cancellation and hopes to take part in the festival when he is fully recovered.

In a previous interview with ZiMoja, L'vovo expressed his gratitude for having survived the stroke and having supportive friends and family. "It has been very tough for me. I have not been able to walk, my leg and hand was affected by the stroke. My friends have been very supportive and driving me around, taking me for my check ups. Music has been my saving grace. I almost died. I don't know how I survived." L'vovo says.
