King of squats and crew left stranded in Durban

The Kings of Squats was left stranded with his crew after travelling to Durban

Nyawolomshini, real name Nkululeko Dlamini, who is also known as the "King of Squats" in the fitness world was left squatting in a car in Durban, KwaZulu after he was left stranded. The former soccer player turned fitness coach was booked to conduct a fitness class at a boot camp at the Moses Mabhida Stadium but little did he know that he was played by the organisers.

TRAVELLING WITH HIS TEAM

Nyawolomshini, who travelled with his team, the Tser Life Team of 20 people, found themselves sleeping in their cars. Nyawolomshini was invited to Durban to participate in Amazulu Football Club Bootcamp on Saturday. "I am still shaking and in disbelief that people can treat us like that. My team and I had to sleep in the cars because none of the organisers picked up our calls," he told ZiMoja. He said that the team had to drive back to Jozi. "We had no choice but to travel back to Jozi - we wasted money and our time. I would like to apologise to whoever paid, I hope they will be refunded," he added. The invite, where people were charged R125 to participate, is written: "Amazulu Bootcamp powered by Siko Republik, Durban, 28 October 2023 at Moses Mabhida Amphitheatre from 8 am to 10 am,". Nyawolomshini, whose training routine includes squatting, aerobics and bum tightening, took to his TikTok to update his followers about their dilemma of being stranded. He said he decided to go live on social media to avoid people blaming him for the mess. "People paid their money to see us, and they don't understand what goes behind the scenes so I decided to go live to clear my name," he said.

SPENDING HIS MONEY FOR TRAVELLING

Nyawolomshini said he spent money from his own pocket to travel to Durban from Joburg as he had hope he would br paid aftertheboot camp as agreed with the organisers.

"I spent over R20 000 for transport, the driver, toll gates, food dor the crew. You know when you travel as a group things are more expensive. I'm really disappointed in both AmaZulu and Siko to be honest ,' he said. On TikTok, Nyawolomshini has a following of more than 420,000, during his Live posting, he had some fans calling out Amazulu FC for not treating him well, while others said he should not blame the team without knowing the real facts first. One of his fans, known only as Skatie on TikTok said she wanted to make AmaZulu trend for ill-treating the fitness guru. She said: "No one is going to do anything to you. I want Amazulu to trend. I'm visiting them on Instagram now,". Amazulu spokesperson Philani Ndlela said they will not be commenting on the matter. Siko Republik, a clothing company that organised the event confirmed that they booked Nyawolomshini and his crew to participate in the boot camp. Jabu Gwala from Siko refused to comment further. "Kindly call us again we can't comment at the moment,'
