Multi-talented singer, actress and dancer KB Motsilanyane affectionately known as Mamosadi KB is back with new music and has released her first single Young Love from her much-anticipated upcoming album, due to be released later in the year. The last song she released was titled Find a Way. "The song was recorded in Sweden, Stockholm at The Kennel,' she tells ZiMoja. Her latest song, Young Love is her most recent offering after her sabbatical from the music industry. The Rock Lefatshe songstress has worked with Nkuleleko Sithole to bring her much-loved signature Afro-House sound to her fans. The single is released under Mamosadi Publishing and Ntethe Music.

BACK TO SCHOOL

During her sabbatical, KB has recorded feature tracks with Ralf Gum, DJ Euphonik, Boddhi Satva, Alton Miller, Lulo Café and Malumz on Decks. She has travelled to Bergen as well as Stockholm, in Europe, to work on her music with different songwriting teams on new material. Through her NPC, Mamosadi Outreach, KB identifies and grooms artists in rural areas through workshops and training, empowering them with information and skills to be able to get employment in the local entertainment. "I am also currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration while continuing with my role on 7 de Laan.'

IN NO RUSH

She believes in taking her time before releasing music. "Starting afresh as a label and learning on the job to release and manage your own projects is completely different to when you are with a major label,' she says. "You have to manage both the back office as well as being an artist the same time while adapting with the new trends and dynamics that are part of the music as well as the entertainment industry.'

STAYING TRUE

KB says her music is about remaining true to herself. "Music is a feeling, for me that is. If I feel happy with a song, and every time I listen to it I feel good, I trust it will have the same effect on others as well.' KB is not intimidated by new music trends and doesn't try to live up to them. "I'm aware that there are new trends, but when it comes to music, irrespective of tempo, genre, or language, a good song is a song,' she says. "I am different. I have like, many people experienced some of what life had to show us in the past few years. Not many of us have remained the same. Therefore, my approach to a song, a message or an idea comes from a different place. Maturity I guess is what it's called.'
