Dance is his first love. He started dancing at the age of 9 years old in the street of Grew up in Ga- Makanye, Limpopo. Today, Vini Laroux real name William Pelebese Masenya is now a renowned DJ and choreographer for music sensation, Mawhoo.

PASSION FOR MUSIC

He would hike and catch rides from strangers to travel to Johannesburg for dance competitions hoping to one day be the best choreographer in the country. But his mom, Esther Masenya encouraged him to never give up. "My mom is a singer at church. I get my musical genes from her. She has always been supportive.'

A DREAMER

After high school, he hustled and entered dance competitions. "I would attend parties and would dance next to the DJ and keep the crowd entertained by dancing. I was not getting paid for it, but was doing it for the love,' he said. He left home to stay in Johannesburg where he went to the dance competition Jika Ma Jika. "I went there to compete but got a job to be a choreographer,' he added. Besides winning major competitions, he has danced for the likes of Fiesta Black, Bontle Smith, and many others. He has played for major events across the continent, including DJ Shimza's One Man Show, and Friends Of Amstel.

GROWN

His life changed when he met Mawhoo at an event four years ago while dancing at an event. "I approached her and it was only after a few months when she needed someone to travel with her to Zimbabwe that she gave me a call. So, our first gig together was international,' he said. Since meeting Mawhoo, Vini says his life changed. "Working with a big artist requires discipline and my brand has grown.It's not like the old days when one would be called in to dance and not get paid.' This year, Vini plans to release his debut single featuring DJ and producer AirBurn Sounds. "This will be the next level of my career.'
