Zahara's family give Vusi Nova some of her guitar collection

Vusi Nova received Zahara's guitar collection as a gift

Afro-pop award-winning sensation, Vusi Nova has been gifted some of the late singer Zahara's guitar collection by her family. Zahara born Bulelwa Mkutukana died on 11 December last year after being in hospital for weeks reportedly from liver complications. Vusi and Zahara were friends for years and he always spoke fondly of her.

APPROACHED BY THE FAMILY

Vusi took to Instagram to appreciate the gift from Zahara's family. In the video shared on social media, Vusi is seen playing a guitar saying this has brought him bitter-sweet memories. Speaking to ZiMoja he said he is still overwhelmed with emotions after Zahara's sister reached out to him. "I seriously don't know whether to cry, to be sad or happy. This is by far one of the best gifts I have ever received," he said. Vusi took it light when Zahara's sister told him about the plan to give him some of Zahara's guitars. "I really thought it was something that was still on the pipeline when her other sister called me and said she dreamt of Zahara asking her if she had given me the guitars yet. I was like this is serious."

KILLER DUO

Vusi Nova who has worked with Zahara before featuring her on the track Usezondibona has already written a song titled Zahara, which will be played in his new reality show, Vusi Nova Unprovoked, to be aired on SABC1 in March. The song will also be featured on his highly anticipated album titled Full Circle. "My album drops on the 23 of February and I don't want to say much but I will definitely be using one of the guitars she left me with," adds Vusi. During Zahara's memorial serice in East London, Vusi said she was special and extraordinary. "For me, right now, she was the one person who understood me. I understood her. Bulelwa took, literally, my secrets to the grave. I want to promise her that I will also take her secrets to my grave," he said. The Mkutukana family spokesperson Nkosi Mkutukana said they will not be commenting on the matter. "We won't be commenting at the moment," he says.
