Beauty queen, TV presenter, and former Miss Teen Africa Katlego 'Kat' Ncala has confirmed that she secretly tied the knot to husband whose name she wishes to keep anonymous after the couple welcomed their baby boy last year.
OVERACHIEVER
She was considered an overachiever, at just 20 years old, she won a world beauty pageant title. She then launched her premium model school - KN International Model Academy. Kat also holds multiple pageant titles, both locally and internationally; the AAMTC Model Of The Year (USA), Miss Teen Africa 2014, Miss Teenager Earth 2018 (Mexico), and most notably, WLBF Miss Teen World (Turkey). But her silence saw her shy away from the limelight and take a back seat from fame. "The last two years have been truly transformative,' she said. "The post-Covid era has forced us all to re-engage with reality, fostering resilience and innovation in many aspects of life. I'm a working girl, doing what I've always wanted to do, working with amazing people.' She has since shifted the focus from her academy and pursuing other business ventures. "I have shifted my focus to empowering and creating impactful platforms in the pageant industry. This organisation offers a remarkable platform for young girls to be empowered and grow, and it's equally empowering for me to be a part of it. Now in its sixth year, the pageant continues to reach new heights every year.'
WELLNESS CLINIC
A close friend recently revealed that the beauty queen has been battling some personal issues that landed her at a wellness clinic. "She has been going through some personal issues, we all do. There was a lot of pressure for her to be perfect as everyone saw the beauty queen, and her parents having had a good respectable reputation came with pressure. But no one is perfect, we all break,' the friend said. An unashamed and unapologetic, Kat said her time at the wellness clinic was worth every hour spent. "My time at the wellness clinic was invaluable. It's essential to recognise and address things like exhaustion and burnout,' she said. "Taking time out for self-care is crucial and I highly recommend it. Rest and wellness are vital for maintaining balance in life, however my biggest recharge and biggest plug remains God.'
FINDING LOVE
Now a married woman with children, Kat met her husband through a mutual friend. "I met my husband in 2021 through a mutual friend. After a couple of dates,' she said. "Initially, I thought we were too different to make it work, but as the saying goes "opposites attract" proved true. I'm bubbly and loud, while he is introverted, a math geek and calm. Our differences complement each other perfectly. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for my family. Being a mother and part of the "wifey club" has been a joyous and fulfilling journey.'
NO PRESSURE
Being a beauty queen comes with its pressure. Kat said she's learned to mind her business and not be too hard on herself. "Perfection is subjective and personal,' she said. "What may seem perfect to one person might not be to another. For me, perfection is about staying in my lane and continually improving myself, as long as I am doing my best and striving to be better each day, that is my version of perfection.' This year has flown by, and her primary goal is to achieve remarkable things within platforms in the pageant space that empower young people. 'I just want to be a great mom and wife. I want to advocate for the youth, that has always been my passion, and I am committed to this cause,' she adds. "Through the pageant platform, I have seen it transform lives. For instance, one of our former titleholders; Jasemine Peters, from one of my pageants, has just been sworn into Parliament. With more support from our government and private sectors, we can achieve even greater milestones through this space. "
