Former Kaizer Chiefs and Zimbabwe national team midfielder Willard Katsande, 37, is set to lose his second house in months. Earlier this year, it was reported that his other house worth R2 million in Johannesburg was auctioned after he failed to make repayments for more than eight months. In the latest matter, the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, in Pretoria, had a judgment against the retired footballer.

NO BUYERS AT AUCTION

In court papers that ZiMoja is in possession of, the Sheriff in Krugersdorp, West Rand, put the house at The Dunes Estates, at Homes Haven Extension, for auction. The asking price at the auction is reserved at R1 667 418.15. The house was not sold at the auction on Tuesday, A woman who introduced herself only as Mrs. Erasmus from Krugersdorp told ZiMoja that there was no bid on the house. "We are waiting for a new auction date," she said.

HE WAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST-PAID FOOTBALLERS AT CHIEFS

Katsande first joined Ajax Cape Town when he came to South Africa. In 2011, his services were acquired by the glamorous Kaizer Chiefs. He was believed to be earning a R200 000 basic salary monthly at Amakhosi. Just before leaving Amakhosi in July 2021, Katsande was modelling a range of clothes. After retiring from professional football, the hard-tackling midfielder joined the Limpopo outfit, Sekhukhune United as a brand ambassador.

NEW CAREER PROSPECTS

In 2023, Katsande started to venture into fashion when he announced his clothing line called Boss Ya Mboka brand with the release of unisex t-shirts with his wife Bonga. Efforts to reach Katsande to comment on the auction of this property drew a blank as his phone rang unanswered
