What started out as a celebration turned into a night of flying fists and broken lips. Renowned fashion designer to the stars, Siphesihle Masango, who dressed the likes of Nomalanga Shozi, Lamiez Holworthy, and Doro Mongy, to name a few, at this year's Durban July was involved in yet another physical altercation with new lover Sibusiso Khumalo following a confrontation fuelled by jealousy.
PAST VIOLENCE
Siphesihle had been single for some time after separating from her lover, Andzelo Tivani, who is also Faith Nketsi's personal assistant, after a domestic violence charge. Andzelo and Siphesihle had a heated argument that became physical. Siphesihle said he had broken up with Andzelo when the incident happened. "We broke up on the 3rd of February this year, but he came to my house accusing me of dating someone who I can't name. When I told him I wasn't, he started beating me," Siphesihle said. Siphesihle alleged that he hit him several times in the face. "I don't know if he used a knife or what, it all happened so quickly. I just felt a sharp pain from a punch, and I started bleeding in my eye and couldn't see because of the blood," he said. Siphesihle said this was not the first time Andzelo got violent with him. "He once strangled me in the club while he was drunk. I forgave him because I loved him and didn't think it would happen again or escalate to something so drastic," he said.
FIGHTING
Siphesihle has since moved on and recently started dating social media influencer Sibusiso Khumalo. A close friend said that on Wednesday evening, after attending dinner with close friends, the two went on a night in the town. "They left the dinner and went to a gay nightclub in Melville, Liquid Blue,' the friend said. "The drama happened when Siphesihle started flirting with an ex, and Sibusiso did not take it well. There was a confrontation that turned physical, and they were thrown out of the club," alleges the friend. The friend added that Siphesihle tried to stay calm, as Sibusiso had lost his cool. Sibusiso told ZiMoja that he was provoked. "What do you do when someone starts a fight? You fight back,' he said. Siphesihle did not wish to comment on the matter. "It is what it is,' he said.
