The family of Ntobeko Mandosi Cele (25) who was brutally stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend in the Malangeni area of Umzinto, KwaZulu-Natal, described the perpetrator as a wolf in sheepskin. Sbusiso Lawrence Ntaka, Ntobeko's ex-boyfriend, confessed to murdering her on Facebook and posted videos and images of her lifeless body.
HE PLANNED HER MURDER
Sibusiso, a primary school teacher was found hanging on a tree, dead the next day not far from where he had stabbed Ntobeko. Speaking to the media, a family member who did not want to be named said she believed that Sbu, as she referred to him had planned the murder. "I'm even surprised that he mentioned the RAF money but forgot to mention that he deliberately bumped Nontobeko in May while she was walking with her cousin leading her to being hospitalised for weeks," a family member said. She added that as a family they thought it was a mistake because accidents happen. "It's clear that he long intended to get rid of her but she survived."
A MANIPULATOR
The relative weighed in on the issue of the paternity of a child that Sbu claimed wasn't his on his social media video. "He is a lying manipulator, mentioning the paternity of the child was just a way of protecting himself wanting to look like a victim. Ntobeko had long broken up with him and he insisted on getting back together with her. He was a wolf in a sheep skin, very abusive and manipulative." Yesterday the Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu condemned the incident in the strongest terms. "This shocking incident is a grim reminder of the ongoing scourge of gender-based violence in our society. Such acts of violence are a betrayal of our shared humanity and have no place in our nation. Furthermore, the use of social media to amplify such cruelty is utterly unacceptable and reflects a disregard for basic decency and the dignity of others."
